Syngenta launches coffee fungicide priori top in Brazil

Syngenta recently launched its fungicide priori top in Brazil for coffee, according to the world agrochemical network. This product combines two bactericidal active substances of Syngenta: azoxystrobin and Difenoconazole. Priori top is highly effective in crop management and yield improvement at flowering.

"The introduction of priori top strengthens Syngenta's product portfolio in coffee. Priori top can improve fruit setting rate, help growers manage diseases, harvest more healthy fruits and finally improve yields. This is a pillar of Syngenta's good growth plan and part of our plan of sustainable agriculture." Philipp schudt, product manager of Syngenta.

Rogner Avelar, Distribution Consultant of agrocafe, said that through the synergy of the two active substances, priori top is an indispensable tool in controlling flowering. Priori top can be used for immediate treatment and long-term protection. It has become an important tool for coffee growers to improve fruit setting rate.

The disease control effect of priori top on other crops has been recognized by everyone. On cotton, priority top can control white mold and anthrax. In citrus, priori top can effectively control post flowering fruit drop (PFD) on citrus and increase the yield by more than 50%.

Since early September, Syngenta has held relevant activities in Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais and San Espirito states to introduce the priori top technology to local farmers. At present, these three places have a total coffee planting area of 2.2 million hectares and about 280000 coffee growers, accounting for 70% of the whole small coffee market in Brazil.
